2006 – 2008 (2 years)
I was one of the Event Managers for the "Reef and Rainforest Carnivale" - this is a community event in Port Douglas that entailed numerous "mini events" (Beach Day, Poker Tournament, Masquerade Ball, Street Parade, Art Exhibitions etc.) over a 10 day period.
My role involved managing the Beach Day and elements of both the Street Parade and Poker Tournament.
This included; sponsorship, marketing, community liaison, managing budgets, overall event management.
Gowdie Management Group
2004 – 2006 (2 years)
My role was to build an office from the ground up. As a new business, I managed everything from office layout, colour scheme, network connections (Telstra, IT, copier etc.), security installation, signage, website inception, purchasing all office furniture and equipment/appliances.
Once the office setup was complete, I implemented systems and processes required for a small business' successful operation. This included, MYOB, filing systems, QA systems, stationary & general office management practices and recruitment.
My role as the Office Manager then involved management of all listed above as well as; Assistant to John Gowdie and the Project Managers and organising functions and meetings.
