Helped take the world’s largest search engine, indexing three times as many pages as Google, to a 10x increase in traffic and into a period of consistent traffic growth through pioneering innovative experiences in exploration of data. Designed, developed, and maintained middle-tier and front-end systems including a custom in-house web server architecture designed to be massively scalable for both content and users. A dynamic environment meant switching between front-end Javascript, HTML, CSS, and design work, Python serving and templating code, to C back-end search code and everything in between. Lead negotiations and communication with outside partners.

Designed and developed a scalable architecture using MVC best practices in a purpose built PHP framework, tuned for speed and horizontal scalability. Using technologies like Memcached, distributed file systems, fault-tolerant database and serving tiers, and schema-less data storage, transformed Swapcove from an idea to a bartering platform.
