• Senior IT Project Manager on Optus Business Ethernet VPN product development project.
• Senior IT Project Manager - Relocation of mission critical TOPS international operator services call switching system. Involved relocating end of life terminal based switching system to an alternate data centre. Project was extremely time sensitive and technically challenging due to the age of the hardware.
o Personally developed/designed an interim international operator information database as a BCP risk mitigation solution, this was subsequently developed into an ongoing intranet based application saving the company upwards of $500K on the existing market alternatives.
o Designed, developed and delivered a custom engineered video interfacing solution to replace the ageing/failing terminal “green screen” displays with an LCD based solution as new replacement units were no longer available. Advised by vendor that this was technically “impossible”. This innovation combined with the successful, on budget and ahead of schedule, project delivery saved in excess of $2.5M on the purchase of a replacement system.

Contracted to design and manage Chubb’s disaster recovery strategy covering the Australian and New Zealand business. Completed a Business Impact Analysis (BIA), investigated and reviewed the technical infrastructure to develop accurate Return to Operation (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO). Investigated and reported on existing Business Continuity procedures. Architected a hot site disaster recovery framework, based around consolidation principles, blade server technology and advanced replication techniques and software. The plan covered over 72 applications and systems, involving over 300 Wintel and 20 UNIX servers of various operating systems and data base flavours across geographically dispersed data centres.
Designed and outlined the project for the upgrade of the existing ATM and safe code management system.
Outlined a consolidation path for the existing infrastructure directly resulting in a company wide IT consolidation project. I declined the project lead role.

Initially contracted as a senior rollout team member of the Adviser Workbench (AWB) custom application to approximately 4000 systems (1300 financial planners and advisers) across Australia. On completion assigned to the AMP/GIO Adviser Technology support team as the top tier trouble-shooter and helpdesk system co-administrator. Responsibilities included: administration of the NT Server based domain, special projects including investigation of new procedures/techniques for use by the help desk and support team, third level support ticket resolution including on-site support of “sensitive” customers, help desk staff training, technical support and advice to the field support team and help desk, product testing and technical documentation. Also involved in special project development and research. Tactfully pushed the company towards a web portal based solution.
