I worked as a software developer from 1981 and a web developer since 1994. In addition I have been working as a publisher, designer, author, artist and occasional public speaker. Projects I have been involved in have received international acclaim and awards, including, in the USA, being an NII Awards semi-finalist, in Australia the winner of several Oscarts awards for my pioneering work with Virtual Artists. In 1999 I was awarded an Australia Day Council Award for VA’s contribution to Australian Business. In the UK my major project for 1999 received the Intel award for most creative e-commerce site.
I studied Computer Science and Pure Maths at Queensland University where I excelled in the fields of information systems design, topology and combinatorics. I have engaged in considerable private study on robotics, AI, evolutionary computing, cognitive science, distributed computing, literary criticism, semiotics and more.
In 2000 I co-founded Carbon Planet with a friend and joined it full-time as CEO in 2006. Carbon Planet has grown since then into a true global carbon management and consulting firm and is now an unlisted public company.
Over the course of my professional life I have been able to hone many of my interests into profitable skill sets. I bring to any enterprise a broad combination of skills refined over many years of industry activity. In addition I bring general problem solving abilities, a refined aesthetic, honesty and integrity, management and leadership skills and a keen thirst for knowledge and further experiences.
