    Fundraising Director

This was a voluntary/part time/after hours role taken on as a member of the Rotary Club of Adelaide for 2 years.

I was responsible for overseeing a successful variety of activities which provided the club annually with $200,000 for community projects.

  • Sports Presentation Manager - Track and Field

Sydney Olympic Games Organising Committee (SOCOG)

    (Public Relations and Communications industry)

    July 2000October 2000 (4 months)

Having worked for several months in a full time role for the SOCOG as Sports Presentation Manager at the Main Stadium I gained some incredible experience.

I was key member of a very hardworking team of 20 that planned, prepared and delivered the whole package that presented the sport as a complete entertainment package. announcing, music, scoreboards, video screens, medal ceremonies, etc.....

Our aim was to turn the sport into a total entertainment experience for the 100,000 plus who attended each session of the Track and Field program.

  • Marketing Director

    Neller Software

    (Computer Software industry)

    January 1990June 1998 (8 years 6 months)

I rejoined Neller after my time with McCormack & Dodge/Dun and Bradstreet Software (DBS) as a consultant to develop a long term Vision for the company which was at that stage struggling financially.

The Vision we built, based on what I had learned working in international roles with DBS, was so compelling I acquired a share holding and became Marketing Director. Within 5 years, we tripled our revenues and our staff, opened offices around the country and gained many of Aust and NZ's best known brands ( incl Woolworths, Coles Myer, MBF, Coca Cola Amatil, FoodTown, Radio Rentals) as clients using our Payroll and HR systems.

This was achieved by building a team of enthusiastic professionals to harness the latest in the emerging client/server technology and deliver quality solutions (products and services) for Payroll and HR in Aust and NZ.

  • Product Manager - HR

    Dun and Bradstreet Software

(Public Company; DNB; Computer Software industry)

    January 1988January 1990 (2 years 1 month)

McCormack and Dodge merged with MSA (its major competitor and formed Dun and Bradstreet Software. Atb the time this was the worlds largest business software company.
I took responsibility for both of the product ranges then supported and a larger team throughout Asia Pacific .
I was also became a member of the team tasked with developing one payroll and HR system to meet the needs of all countries in which we operated.
Regular visits to company HQ in Atlanta and other development centres in Europe provided access and insights to technology trends which were invaluable.
I later took on a Sales and Marketing Management role with responsibility for SA/WA territory

  • HR/Payroll Product Manager

    McCormack & Dodge (M&D)

    (Public Company; Computer Software industry)

    January 1985December 1988 (4 years )

Having assisted in the sale of Austpay to M&D, I was responsible for converting the product to fit into the M&D Millennium environment and integrate it with their range of Financial Applications.

This involved recruiting a team of 10, opening a new office in Adelaide and working with the M&D sales and marketing team.

In addition to introducing a new product to the existing M&D Financial Systems clients we introduced our existing client base to a new support structure/technology platform. We also developed a new suite of marketing support materials and product documentation.

In the role I reported direct to the Man. Dir.for Asia Pacific and covered Aust/NZ, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Phillipines.

I also had a responsibility to the Product Development V P in USA, as I also ran one of the 3 development centres outside of the USA.

It was a challenging and rewarding experience working for one of the worlds largest business software houses at the time.

  • Product Manager

    Neller Software

    (Information Technology and Services industry)

    October 1981June 1985 (3 years 9 months)

After successfully installing and commissioning Austpay at Mitsubishi I joined Neller Software firstly as a Systems Analyst and then Austpay Product Manager. In this role I lead a team which buil, maintained and marketing the product which developed a blue chip customer base, on a wide variety of hardware platforms.

When the costly demands of developing and maintaining a Mainframe Software System became too great the company decided to find it a good home.

Working closely with the company's founder and Managing Director - John Neller we engineered the sale to McCormack & Dodge the then business software arm of Dun and Bradstreet.

This involved many presentations to M&D hierachy in Aust and US and my commitment to join M&D to mange the transition.

The way the product had been designed and structured, which allowed for easy conversion to a variety of platforms, was recognised by M&D tech staff during the due diligence as being ahead of its time.

  • Systems Analyst/Programmer

    Mitsubishi Motors

    (Public Company; Automotive industry)

    January 1971September 1981 (10 years 9 months)

Worked on a variety of applications built for the IBM Mainframe in COBOL. Applications included Parts Fulfillment, Engine Production, Marketing and Payroll.
In 1979 I was assigned to work with John Neller & Assoc on the development of Australia's first mainframe Payroll/HR package - Austpay, which was subsequently delivered to Mitsubishi.
