Jim Jeffers’s Summary

Background & Education:

As a self taught-designer and developer with over ten years of professional experience in web application conceptualization, design, and implementation. My formal education at ASU has been an undergrad with a concentration in business marketing. I'm currently pursuing my masters degree in Interaction Design at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia

User Experience / Service Design:

I currently facilitate and conduct design research and paper prototyping sessions for my clients. I help clients discover target audiences and design workflows in their products to help them best address their target audiences needs while appealing to their motives. We rapidly iterate these tests on paper to determine a concrete solution that we can test on users.

Implementation:

I help clients test and prove concepts by rapidly prototyping them in HTML/CSS/Javascript or by using Flex/Flash to create interactive mockups.

Development and Design:

I have worked as a visual designer for over 10 years with a focus on web. In addition to design creation I also can produce production worthy, cross-browser compatible html/css/js builds for visual designs following best practices for semantic markup, accessibility, and progressive enhancement. Finally, I am well versed in server side frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, PHP including (Wordpress and Expression Engine), and even .NET's MVC solution so I can work well with software developers.

I typically hand code in:
HTML, Javascript, CSS, Actionscript (1/2/3), Ruby, and PHP.
