Owner, Thinking Futures: working with people and organisations in education to develop futures ready strategy.
Melbourne Area, Australia
After a long and successful career in university management, I established Thinking Futures in 2007 to work with people, institutions and professional associations to integrate long term thinking (AKA futures thinking) into strategy processes. Using a range of futures approaches, I faciliate processes and provide strategic scannng to allow organisations to develop strategy that is based on a systematic and rigorous exploration of the future.
I have particular expertise in managing strategy development and implementation projects for universities, vocational and further education providers and other educational institutions, and for professional associations in the education industry.
- strategic thinking using futures approaches such as scenario planning and casual layered analysis
- strategic planning and developing meaningful strategic plans
- environmental scanning to inform strategy development processes

I run Thinking Futures as an innovative futures practice. My expertise is focused around strategy development and implementation, and the use of futures approaches to strengthen strategic thinking. I facilitate innovative planning workshops that combine my knowledge with the knowledge held by staff, and work with organisations to integrate systematic strategic thinking processes into their strategy development.
