Pamela Ueckerman’s Summary

I am a web developer and frontend engineer with a particular interest in Web Standards, usability, accessibility and Agile methodology.

After completing my Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and Management Skills, I spend the following seven years working as a Java developer / consultant / lead for firms such as Cambridge Technology Partners, Thoughtworks and ING (Amsterdam). I worked for many high-profile clients such as Telstra, Pacific Access (Sensis), ANZ and Nationale Nederlanden and also spent some time as a contractor in Amsterdam. During this time I became familiar with Agile practices and the XP methodology and have since been involved in Agile projects as a freelancer.

In 2005, after realising my forté is in front-end development, I launched Spiral Designs - a one-woman web shop. Since then, I have created and collaborated on numerous sites for various small and medium-sized businesses. I have also worked as a freelance web developer for a number of companies and also as a frontend producer and a frontend designer.

I am an associate of Cogent Consulting (www.cogentconsulting.com.au), creating markup for their various client projects as needed. My particular skill and interest is in taking beautiful designs and turning them into beautiful markup and code (XHTML/CSS/Javascript).

Some sites of note that I have worked on (XHTML/CSS/Javascript/Front-end production):
- JRDutyFree.co.nz
