Along with another goon named Ed Howley, I run a weblog for Junior creatives called Junior. We post interviews with successful creatives from around the world - the sole purpose being to figure out why the hell we do what we do. Some say it's a noble task, we just enjoy talking shit with some nice people.

  • Cultural Director

    The Surgery

(Privately Held; Marketing and Advertising industry)

    March 2008March 2009 (1 year 1 month)

The Surgery was the agency where I cut my teeth and became a professional. I was the sole creative for a period before working with a very talented Art Director under the tutelage of an incredibly experienced Creative Director. We worked on clients including:

    - Grolsch Premium Lager
    - LeasePlan Australia
    - Mesop
    - Human Powered Cycles

The agency may be small but it made us work bloody hard for every project. We didn't just work on the obligatory TVC, Radio and Print ads either (although we saw our fair share), but developed 'new' ways of solving client's 'challenges'. I'd mention them now but they're still in the works. Hopefully we'll see those projects out on the streets soon. Go team.

The Managing Director, Simon Hakim, taught me many things about business and strategy. Thanks to this, I'd like to think that my commercial mind is now as developed as my creative one.

  • Studio Assistant

    - ThreeThousand.com.au
    - Now Now & WON Magazine (http://nownow.com.au/)
    - Rooftop Cinema
    - Custom Publications
