Since late 1980s, have established Asia/Pacific and Japan operations for three US technology companies: Candle Corporation (mainframe systems management software), Tivoli Systems (now a business division of IBM, leading network and systems management vendor) and Gartner (world leading IT research and advisory services). In all cases, was employee number one in the region. At Gartner, I was an advisor to many large Asia/Pacific enterprises and global IT firms conducting business in the region, as well as a number of regional governments on IT industry development policy issues.
Co-founder of 2 new technology firms in Asia: AsiaOnline Internet-related venture using advanced statistical machine translation software to provide massive amounts of local language content and portal services across Asia; and Strat-etech Consulting management consulting firm specializin in IT and IP strategic engagements across Asia.
Co-founder of inQbator, Australia's most successful technology incubator. Previous Vice-Chairman of Australian Information Industries Association 2002-2004.
