Kelly Rattigan's Summary
As Managing Director of Formworks Architecture, Kelly Rattigan has worked as Project Director and Design Director on a number of complex and challenging new Western Australian projects, proactively sought and obtained extra funding for sustainability initiatives on behalf of her clients, and developed at Formworks one of Western Australia’s leading Building Information Technology teams. She has also developed an innovative designer/client interface process called Owner Driven Design that educates clients on their role in the design process, and provide assurance that the outcome will meet their objectives.
A number of Kelly’s projects have broken new ground in the way clients have needed to integrate various services and functions at a single facility. St. Bartholomew’s Lime Street Project in East Perth has been the first time in Australia that a facility for the homeless has attempted to combine crisis care, transitional care, long term accommodation, aged care (dementia specific) and offices for mental health service providers etc. on a single site.
To meet this challenge, Kelly has travelled widely in Western Australia and the Eastern states to view existing facilities, and used an independent facilitator to conduct a series of operability reviews and operational risk reviews with St. Bartholomew’s staff. The outcome is a design that allows St Bartholomew’s to implement its exciting vision to create a single facility that will take a homeless person in crisis, and allow them to “graduate” through to long term residential care within the same community.
Formwork’s new Pilbara Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility in South Hedland is the first community based drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility for indigenous clients to be designed and built from initial conception in Australia. This project will begin on site July 2011 scheduled for completion July 2012.

As the Project Director on a range of local, state and federally funded projects, Kelly brings her expertise in client consultation to provide innovative design solutions for the more disadvantaged members of our community, particularly in regional areas. Formworks is currently delivering a number of projects in the North West, including Roebourne, Newman and South Hedland.
