Mark Bannerman's Experience
HSSE / Site supervisor
Mechcon
August 2012 – January 2013 (6 months) Mackay Area, Australia
During the construction of a new B-double loading gantry at the Shell Mackay Terminal, I was the HSSE representative/site supervisor. The site was still a live site, and as such, loading of fuel trucks continued for the duration of the project. All work in and around the existing gantry was managed via the permit system. The project was completed without major impact to the still operating site and with NO injuries.
My role was to liaise with the client / contractors, organize, write, issue and validate permits. Reporting to the project engineer in Brisbane, keeping records of daily activities, incidents, manhours, project schedule, any issues that did or could arise and holding inductions for new contractors.
